General

What is Teleport?

Teleport is a Chrome extension for job seekers. It spots job postings on any site, scores how well you fit each one, saves jobs to your list, and adds tools to revise your resume, research the company, ask questions and share the job.

Is Teleport free?

Yes, the extension is free. If you choose to connect your own AI provider, that provider may charge you for usage under its own terms.

Which browsers does it work in?

Teleport is built for Google Chrome on desktop. It is coming soon to the Chrome Web Store. Until then you can install it from a zip.

Which job sites does it support?

Any site. Smart analysis reads the page content, so it works on company career pages and pasted job descriptions too. It also has dedicated readers for LinkedIn, Greenhouse, Lever, Indeed, Workday and Ashby. See supported sites.

Do I need an account?

Yes. Teleport needs a free account. Sign up with Google or with email and password. Your account holds your email and sign-in details; your resume and saved jobs still stay on your device unless you turn on back up and sync.

Privacy

Where is my resume stored?

In your browser, in Teleport's local extension storage. It leaves your device only if you turn on the AI engine (sent directly to your provider) or back up and sync (sent to Teleport cloud).

Does Teleport read every page I visit?

Its content script looks at the pages you open to decide, on your device, whether each one is a job posting. Page content is not sent anywhere unless you take an action such as saving, syncing or using your AI key. You can turn it off per site.

Will recruiters see my name?

Only if you turn on all three sharing options: sync, talent pools, and "Let recruiters request to contact me". Without the third, recruiters see a pseudonymous summary with no name, email, resume text or employers.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. In Privacy & data you can export your data, delete your account and cloud data, and delete everything Teleport stored in your browser. See export and delete.

Does Teleport sell my data?

No. The draft privacy policy says Teleport does not sell your personal information or use it for advertising. Recruiters see pseudonymous pool summaries only if you opt in.

Features

How is the fit score calculated?

A weighted mix of skills (40%), experience (20%), role and seniority (15%), education (10%), keywords (10%) and location (5%), adjusted for things like sponsorship, clearance and salary floor. See fit score explained.

Do I need an AI key?

No. Fit scores, resume revisions and basic answers work locally. Adding your own OpenAI-compatible or Anthropic key gives deeper analysis, full resume rewrites and open-ended chat.

Will Revise my resume make things up?

No. Every suggestion is checked against what you stated. Anything that adds an employer, title, date, degree, number or skill is blocked and listed with the reason. Missing numbers become an [add metric] placeholder for you to fill in.

Where do company insights come from?

Public sources: Wikidata, Wikipedia, Google News, the Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby job board APIs, and the company website if you allow it. Ratings come only from Glassdoor, Indeed or Comparably pages you open yourself.

Recruiters

How do recruiters get access?

The Teleport team issues an API key for each recruiter organization. There is no self-serve sign-up yet. See for recruiters.

What is the privacy threshold?

Pools with fewer members than the minimum pool size are hidden, and searches that match too few candidates return nothing. The minimum is 3 today.
