The button isn't showing
What to check when the Add to Teleport button or fit badge doesn't appear on a job posting.
Work through these checks in order. Most cases are solved by the first three.
1. Teleport is off for this site#
Open the toolbar popup. If the Teleport on checkbox for this site is clear, check it. You can also review Settings → Sites where Teleport is off in the dashboard and click Re-enable.
2. The button is hidden in settings#
In the dashboard, open Settings and make sure Show the button and fit badge on pages is on.
3. The page was open before Teleport was installed or updated#
Reload the page. Chrome only adds an extension's content script to pages loaded after it was installed or reloaded.
4. Smart analysis is off#
With Smart analysis off, Teleport only reacts to structured job data and the known job sites. Turn it on in Settings, or select the job description text to analyze it.
5. The page doesn't look like a single job#
Teleport skips search results, articles, product pages and lists of many jobs. Open the job's own page, or select the description text. If it reads like a job description, Teleport offers Add to Teleport.
6. The job is in a small embedded frame#
Frames smaller than 400 by 300 pixels are skipped. Open the job in its own tab. Many career sites have an "open in new window" link.
7. The title is covered#
If a sign-in prompt or pop-up covers the title, Teleport uses a floating button in the corner instead. See the LinkedIn sign-in overlay.
8. Chrome doesn't allow extensions on this page#
Extensions can't run on chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store, or other browser-internal pages.
9. The popup sees it, the page doesn't#
The toolbar popup shows the job detected on the current page. If it shows the job but there's no button on the page, click Add to Teleport in the popup. If the popup says no job was detected, use its add one manually link.
Still stuck?#
Open Chrome's DevTools (right-click the page, Inspect, Console), set the log level to include Verbose, and reload. Teleport logs lines starting with Teleport: that explain what it decided, for example "selection is not job-like".
