The LinkedIn sign-in overlay

Why the button can float in the corner on LinkedIn, and how to get it back next to the job title.

When you view LinkedIn jobs while signed out, LinkedIn often shows a sign-in dialog over the page. That dialog repeats the job title, sometimes while it's hidden.

What Teleport does#

Teleport never puts its button inside a dialog, pop-up or hidden element. If the only visible copy of the title is in an overlay, Teleport shows a floating button in the corner of the page instead, with the same Add to Teleport button and fit badge.

When you close the dialog or sign in and the title becomes visible, the button moves back next to the title.

What you can do#

  • Use the floating button. It works the same way: save the job, open the fit panel, use every tool.
  • Close the dialog with its × button. The button moves next to the title.
  • Sign in to LinkedIn. Signed-in job pages don't show the overlay.

Job search with the side pane#

In LinkedIn's job search view, the job you select opens in a pane on the right. Teleport reads that pane and updates the button when you pick another job. If it doesn't update, click the job title to open its own page, or reload.

Teleport saves LinkedIn jobs as clean linkedin.com/jobs/view/ links without tracking parameters, so the same job isn't saved twice.
